Machu Picchu

Machu Picchu

I had to visit Machu Picchu twice and even after that I have to say that I missed the mystical sense that other sites around the world have evoked. Probably it was the number of tourists at the site who raced to there to get early morning tickets to climb the treacherous terraces of Wayna Picchu. Or else it was the mincing tourists who so clearly came by bus in order to be able to say they had been there, and their ill-mannered children who took it upon themselves to chase the baby llamas. The result of the huge number of people who visited (and this was the low season) was a sense of seething humanity, instead of the peace I expected. The following are strategic photos taken between the hordes of humanity. To read my blogs about my visits click Here and Here.
